3/2/2024 0 Comments Magic lantern canon eos m3![]() 1080p video from the GX8 will blow away anything you can do with the M system. You are showing the GX8 and A6300 in your gear list. The M3 throws out less data, but runs higher compression. Recording RAW video with magic lantern doesn't change this fact, it only eliminates the compression. Instead of doing a full sensor readout and interpolating down to 1920X1080, the M cameras just throw out about 2/3 of the sensor data and then interpolate the remainder to 1920X1080. ![]() All M cameras use line skipping and pixel binning to create 1080 video. If you care at all about video quality, you don't want any of the M system cameras. ![]() I don't really mind raw video anyways at least not when you can only shoot 8-10s max of raw video footage only.īesides raw video, are there anything that would sway me to get the M over the M2 or M3 because of Magic Lantern? The M also has an option of installing the Magic Lantern which enhances it's abilities but will never have a flip screen. The prices for the M and M2 are really attractive but I'm also interested in the M3's flip screen and the option to add an EVF.
